In the ‘Super Four’ of the ongoing Asia Cup, Afghanistan took on Pakistan on 7 September 2022 at Sharjah. Pakistan was coming off a vital win over India. While Afghanistan was looking for a win after their loss against Sri Lanka. But, the Men in Green kept their nerves and managed to pull it off.
With this win, Pakistan confirmed its place in the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka. But, India and Afghanistan got ruled out of the competition. But, more unfortunate things happened after the conclusion of the match. It was seen that fans from both the country got involved in a clash in the stadium. Naseem Shah handed a thrilling victory to Pakistan over Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2022
Speaking of the video, the match was in a tight situation during the last over. Pakistan needed 11 runs from six balls, with one more wicket to go only. But, Naseem Shah hit two consecutive sixes and sealed the deal for his country. However, it did not go well with the Afghan fans as they got involved with Pakistan fans in a heated action.
It was found that Afghan fans allegedly started damaging the Cricket Stadium. As per reports, they could not control their emotions. Thus, they expressed anger by hitting Pakistani fans in the stadium. Even, those fans were seen throwing chairs at the Pakistani fans.
Speaking of the match, Afghanistan batted first after Babar Azam won the toss. He asked Afghanistan to bat first. They posted only 129 runs by six wickets in 20 overs, In reply, Pakistan was completely struggling to score. But, Naseem Shah held his nerves and managed to pull it off for his country. Shadab Khan was the player of the match for his all-round performance. While batting, he scored 36 runs off 26 balls. But with the ball, he took one wicket by conceding 27 runs in four overs. Now, they will play against Sri Lanka in the ‘Super Four’ on 9 September. Then, they will play again in the final on 11 September 2022.
