WATCH: Babar Azam bowls in Pakistan A vs Prime Minister’s XI match
Babar Azam bowled in the practice match between Pakistan A and Prime Minister’s XI. The Pakistani cricketer rolled his arms over, as a part time bowler in the practice match on the second day. Pakistan A continued their domination in the practice match with their impressive play. To give it some rest for the main bowlers after the initial spell, Babar was asked to bowl by Shan Masood.
Matt Renshaw and Cameron Green were the batters who faced Babar a bowler in the short spell. The star cricketer operated in good lengths during his spell, as the two batters were happy to knock him around for singles and couples to rotate the strike. Babar was cheered by his teammates for his bowling, which encouraged him to do well in an unfamiliar role.
Sarfaraz Ahmed behind the stumps was vocal. The former Pakistani captain cheered his teammate to bowl in the right lines. After each delivery bowled by Babar, the wicketkeeper came up with cheers. Ahmed shouted “Nice Bobby” as Babar bowled a good length delivery against green. He further said “Nice Gazza” as Babar bowled a slightly shorter delivery to Green.
Shan Masood shines as a batter
Before Babar enjoyed bowling in the middle, it was Shan Masood who shined with the bat. The new captain of Pakistan scored a fantastic double hundred as a batter. The revival of Masood as a batter has been good to see, which started after the T20 World Cup 2022, where Masood was in the side and did not have a great time as a batter.
After the debacle, Masood went back to domestic cricket and scored tons of runs. He made himself eligible to be in the Test side. Since his comeback, Masood has been one of the best batters in Tests. In the series against Sri Lanka, Masood was aggressive and encouraged others to bat the same way as well. It forced the Pakistani management to make him the next captain, following the decision of Babar to step down.
