Veteran Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara has been included in the elite list of Indian batters who have played 100 or more Test matches. In the ongoing second Test against Australia in Delhi, Pujara completed this milestone when he walked onto the field. Rohit Sharma and his team presented the guard of honour to the 35-year-old and applauded him as he walked into the ground.

Pujara became the 13th Indian player to feature in 100 Test matches. Virat Kohli is the only player in the current before Pujara who achieved this milestone with 106 matches. Along with these two, Sachin Tendulkar (200), Rahul Dravid (163) VVS Laxman (134), Kapil Dev (131), Harbhajan Singh (103), Ishant Sharma (105), Sourav Ganguly (113), DB Vengsarkar (116), Sunil Gavaskar (125), Virender Sehwag (103) and Anil Kumble (132) have played more than 100 Tests for India.

Since his debut in 2010 against the Aussies, Pujara has scored 7021 Test runs averaging at 44.15 including 19 hundred and 34 half-centuries. He has been India’s one of pivotal batter in Whites. Pujara is known for his great defense and takes the inning further slowly and steadily. He is one of India’s dependable batters and has played important knocks overseas.

Australia lose 3 wickets in the first session

Talking about the Delhi Test, Australia decided to bat after winning the toss. The visitors have scored 94 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the first session. Usman Khawaja and David Warner gave a fine start to the Aussies adding 50 runs for the first wicket. Warner got caught behind by KS Bharat in the 16th over by Mohammed Shami.

After few overs, Ravichandran Ashwin sent both Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith to the pavilion in the 23rd over reducing the visitors to 91 for 3. Khawaja is still on the crease scoring a fine half-century with 50 runs off 74 balls including eight fours and one six.
