In the club-friendly played between Inter Milan from the USA and Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia played each other. For the first time after 2020, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were meant to play on the same ground but against each other. Never in their respective careers, they have played each other. There was a time when they were reported to play together.

However, one of them reportedly asked his side not to make such a move. Meanwhile, last year, in the game between Paris Saint-Germain and Al Nassr, Ronaldo was completing his ban, which was imposed on him during his stint with Manchester United. For the unversed, during the 2022-23 season, before the FIFA World Cup 2022, Ronaldo thrashed a fan’s phone which is why he was banned for a few club games.

While Messi went on to win the World Cup as captain, Ronaldo’s team lost to first-time semifinalists from Africa, Morocco in the Quarterfinal. Meanwhile, ahead of the club friendly between Milan and Nassr, fans were expecting the modern-day legends to perform on the field. However, to the disappointment of the fans, the Portugal international was ruled out due to a muscle injury.

On the other hand, Messi started on the bench as he was nursing a hamstring problem. Even though the FIFA WC 2022 winning captain came out as the substitute in the 83rd minute, the fans were left disappointed by that time. Meanwhile, during the game, the United States-based team was trailing by 0-3 in just the 25th minute of the game. In the split screen, Ronaldo can be seen smiling while Messi is justifiably worried.
