Rocks magic at Potchefstroom
Potchefstroom stadium hosted the match between the two sides and it was Adams and his men who batted first in the battle. While Janneman Malan disappointed with the bat for just 11 runs, Leus du Plooy and Valintine Kitime returned for a naught, putting the team in deep trouble.
However, South African veteran Farhaan Behardien, who stayed in the crease till the end, remained unbeaten for 63 runs, while Clyde Fortuin scored a decent 29 off 26 balls to power Rocks to a total of 121 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of the first innings.
Concerning Titans’ chase, Brevis, who stunned everyone with the field, got off to a good start as he smacked two sixes and two fours before making his way back to the pavilion for 22 runs. Jiveshan Pillay’s slow 34-ball 18 cost the team heavily and the team collapsed from 87/3 to 103/7 in no time as Rocks eventually won the match by 4 runs.
However, with this win, Rocks eventually made it to the second place on the points table while Titans remained at the top with just 1 loss to their name. As it stands, it remains to see if the top two teams would carry on with the momentum or either of them would clinch the title.
