During the match between Bengaluru FC and East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League 2022, fans got involved in a fistfight in the stands. An East Bengal fan got punched in the face during the game played in Bangalore. A video of the same has surfaced on the internet.
The fan was seated in the video when another person charged at him and punched him in the face. He also then hit back, and the two continued to fight. A user posted the video on Twitter and asked the management to increase security. The user, who witnessed the incident first-hand, also mentioned that few people were drunk in the stands.
“I seriously hope @ParthJindal11 takes a look at this and improves the hospitality at Kanteerava. The fans definitely DO NOT DESERVE THIS! Few of them were drunk, so I am not sure how they were allowed in the first place. Need tight security. @IndSuperLeague @bengalurufc,” he wrote.

In the meantime, Cleiton Silva silenced his former fans by scoring the only goal of the game as East Bengal FC defeated Bengaluru FC 1-0 in the Indian Super League on Friday. The Blues failed to score for the third time in a row, as the Red and Gold earned their first clean sheet of the season.
No goals were scored in the first 45 minutes, as the hosts failed to register a single shot on goal. Bruno Silva fired a long-range effort that went just wide of the goal in the first minute.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 69th minute. As the last man running towards his own goal on the left, Wangjam came under pressure from Mahesh and miskicked his backpass towards the goalkeeper. Mahesh pounced on a loose ball and was one-on-one with the goalkeeper when he squared it for Silva, who calmly tapped it in against his former club.
