Rohit Sharma is currently busy playing the ongoing Asia Cup for India in UAE. Under his leadership, India enjoyed a great form this year in the shortest format of the game. But, the Asia Cup did not go as per his plan. India started well but got derailed in the ‘Super Four’ round. 

In that round, India lost both matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Now, on 8 September 202, they both will take on each other in Dubai. But, a video went viral on the internet where Rohit Sharma shared a completely wrong date regarding the selection of India’s squad for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma looked absolutely clueless when he was asked about the potential date for India’s 20-20 World Cup squad selection

Speaking about the video, during a press conference in the Asia Cup, reporters asked Rohit Sharma about the potential date for India’s final squad for the upcoming 2020 World Cup. But, the Indian skipper looked absolutely clueless. He even asked someone about the date.

Then, he said that you guys will know the squad around 16th or 17th December. But, as per schedule, the World Cup in Australia will be completed by 15th November only. Hence, some fans found the video quite shocking. Meanwhile, some fans found it very funny for such a response from the Indian skipper.

Speaking about India, they kicked off the Asia Cup 2022 with two wins against Pakistan and Hong Kong. But, their dream of winning the cup for the third time in a row got thrashed away with two losses against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the ‘Super Four’ round. However, the results did not impress fans at all as they criticized Rohit Sharma’s leadership abilities. Even, as an individual batter, he failed to score big runs constantly. Only in the last match against Sri Lanka, he scored 72 runs off 41 balls. However, in four matches, he scored 133 runs in four matches, at an average of 33.25.
