On 28 August 2022, India defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 by five wickets. After last year’s defeat in the T20 World Cup, India was ready to win this time around. However, they did so and Hardik Pandya played a brilliant part in it. He was the player in the match also. He remained unbeaten while India was chasing the target of 148 runs.
But, an incident happened after the match. Former India cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Sanjay Bangar were busy with their work. Then, Hardik joined them for a quick chat. There, he heaped praise on his former captain, MS Dhoni. Hearing that, Gambhir came up with some awkward reaction. It did not go well with fans as the video got viral.

Gautam Gambhir reacted after Hardik Pandya heaped praises for MS Dhoni as a finisher
Speaking of the video, Hardik Pandya was asked about his process to be so calm in such tough situations. In response to that, Pandya said that he learned that thing from MS Dhoni. He said: “I have learned a lot from my MS Dhoni bhai as a finisher and how to finish the games. I just try to keep my calm and try to assess the situation.”
Hearing this, Gautam Gambhir did not react properly and it got viral. However, Pandya also added that assessing the situation is very much important for these kinds of games.
“It’s important to assess the situation and use your weapons. The hard lengths particularly. But you have to use them wisely. When it comes to batting, the chances I take when executing, I’m likelier to pull it off when I’m calmer. I knew they had Nawaz waiting to bowl, and while we needed 7, even if we needed 15 I would have fancied my chances,” Pandya said after the match. Now he will be in action again when India will take on Hong Kong on 31 August 2022 in the UAE.
