Washington Freedom locked horns with San Francisco Unicorns in the 11th match of the Major League Cricket‘s 2023 edition. The Washington Freedom side won the fixture by 30 runs and the left-arm seamer, Saurabh Netravalkar won the Player of the Match award for his marvellous bowling. He grabbed six wickets in his spell of 3.5 overs where he conceded just 9 runs.

On the second ball of the third over of San Francisco’s innings, Finn Allen lofted the ball in the air which was bowled by Anrich Nortje. However, the shot was mistimed and it went towards the third man where Glenn Philips completed the catch by running behind and diving.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about mentality, everyone gives 100% into their fielding. I’ve set high standards for myself over the years. Fielding is the only thing you can do well if you haven’t scored many runs, I just want to do my level best, great effort from all the boys. I’m chuffed for Netravalkar, in a tournament like this, to get 5 wickets is extremely pleasing. We have given ourselves some buffer with this win today, but we’ll not take it lightly,” Philips was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation.
