Pakistan Cricket and upsets have become one of the greatest love stories in the modern era. During the 20-20 World Cup 2022, their men’s team lost to Zimbabwe. After this, they were on the brink of being knocked out. However, thanks to their winning momentum and a stroke of luck, they reached the final only to lose to England. Meanwhile, nearly a month after that, their women counterparts have been humbled too.

Apparently, in the series-deciding game of the three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Ireland women, the Irish won. Batting first, the European team amassed 167/4. For the visitors, Gaby Lewis (71) and Orla Prendergast (37) contributed immensely. For the home side, Nida Dar, Nashra Sandhu, and Ghulam Fatima took one wicket each. In reply, the Bismah Maroof-led side got all-out for 133, losing the game by 34 runs.

With this win, Pakistan lost the series by 1-2. After the game, Ireland Cricket uploaded a video of the players celebrating with the trophy and singing inside the team bus.

Notably, Pakistan women’s team also lost to Thailand during the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 in Bangladesh. However, the team went to play the semifinal where they lost to Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, talking about the series, the home team clean sweep the three-match ODI series. However, in the first game of the T20I series, they lost by six wickets.

In reply, Pakistan made a comeback and leveled the series. However, they have failed to win the series. It will be interesting to see if the Pakistani media create ay outrage after their national side lost to a lower-ranked team. Notably, whenever something like this happens with the men’s team, they are subjected to relentless criticism. However, somehow, that isn’t the case with the women’s team as of now.
