On January 27, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan was spotted performing Bhangra while celebrating his elder brother’s Yusuf Pathan’s 95 meters six. The Pathan brothers were playing for India Maharajas in the inaugural Legends League Cricket in Oman. The league has provided an opportunity to turn back the clock for the former cricketers around the globe. Players like Kevin Pietersen, Kevin O’ Brien, Naman Ojha, Misbah-Ul-Haq, Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan etc have shown the fans that they can still play the game.

The Pathan brothers have won numerous games for India in their prime. They did the same when their side was playing against Asia Lions in the tournament opener. Yusuf scored 80 while Irfan scored 21 not out and took two wickets as well to take India Maharajas to a win against Asia Lions. On January 27, Maharajas were playing against World Giants in a must-win game.

During the game, the elder Pathan hit a gigantic 95 meter six against former Australia pacer Brett Lee. At that stage, the scorecard read 112/2 after 11.1 overs. Meanwhile, Irfan was jubilant after watching the six and celebrated with performing Bhangra dance.

World Giants went on to beat India Maharajas and will now face Asia Lions in the final. Batting first, Giants amassed 228/5, thanks to Phil Mustard (57), Herschelle Gibbs (89), Kevin O’Brien (34) and Jonty Rhodes (20). In reply, Maharajas fell short by five runs even though Naman Ojha (95), Yusuf Pathan (45) and Irfan Pathan (56) played their part in chasing down a mammoth target. India Maharajas only needed eight runs of the last over.
