India lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah has returned to training after sustaining a stress fracture a couple of months back. The injury led him to miss out on the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Not to forget, he had missed out on the Men’s Asia Cup 2022 in August-September this year. The team management ‘rushed’ him during the T20I series against Australia at home.

However, after the first game, the right-arm pacer was ruled out of the series. Later on, his injury was deemed serious, and was ruled out of the World Cup in Australia. Currently, the Gujarat player has been rested for the ongoing tour of New Zealand. Recently, one of the ousted selection committee members stated that they are not willing to take any further chances.

Talking about India, they are scheduled to play against Bangladesh next month. The series will consist of three ODIs, followed by two Tests. The Red Ball games will be part of the World Test Championship cycle 2021-23. Bumrah won’t be part of the entire series. He is expected to be fit before the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Series early next year.

At this point, there is no confirmation of the schedule. However, it is expected to be played in the months of February and March with the Men’s Indian T20 League to follow in late March next year. Before this, the five-time Indian T20 League winner would play some domestic games before being called back in the national side. Jasprit was missed during the 20-20 World Cup as the team crashed out in the semis of the tournament.

In the knockout game, the Men In Blue failed to pick a single wicket and lost the game by 10 wickets and four overs to spare. The fans would be hoping for him to get better and do well for his nation.
