WATCH: Jemimah Rodrigues’s viral Instagram story leaves fans guessing
Star India batter, Jemimah Rodrigues departed for the United Kingdom on Friday, July 28 in order to compete in The Hundred Women 2023, which will be held from August 1 to 27. According to reports, the 22-year-old will play for the Northern Superchargers in place of injured Australian all-rounder Heather Graham, who has a calf problem. On Instagram, she posted a photo of herself holding an Indian passport along with the caption: “Agla (Next) station: United Kingdom.”
Jemimah last appeared in a game for India Women while they were touring Bangladesh. In three ODIs, she scored 139 runs, at an average of 86. She took four wickets in the competition. The cricketer from Mumbai, however, struggled in the T20I series, scoring 8, 28, and 10 runs, respectively. She had earlier helped Delhi Capitals get to the Women’s Premier League final by scoring 126 runs in nine games.

One of the few Indian cricketers who have competed in both The Hundred and Big Bash League is Jemimah. In the previous season of The Hundred, she only participated in two games, scoring 51 and two runs, respectively. With three victories in six games during the eight-team competition, her team came in fifth place. Except for Jemimah, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh has replaced the injured Georgia Redmayne in the London Spirit’s squad.
