Mitchell Marsh dedicated his POTM award to a young fan after helping Australia win the first test in Perth. The video of him giving his Player of the Match medal to a young fan in the stands is going viral on the internet. The fan seemed to be very happy with the beautiful gesture from the Western Australian cricketer, who had a brilliant outing in the middle.

In the first innings of the Test against Pakistan, Marsh scored 90 runs in 107 balls and took the attack on the opposition in style. It mentally demoralized Pakistan and the bowlers could not handle the counterattack from the aggressive batter. Australia ended up scoring 487 runs on the board in the innings, which turned out to be a lot on the wicket that had a lot in it for the bowlers.

In the first innings, Marsh was handy as a bowler. In his 9 overs, the right-arm pacer conceded only 34 runs and claimed the big wicket of Babar Azam. In the second innings, it was Marsh’s innings with the bat that changed things for the home side. With Usman Khawaja anchoring the innings from the other end, Marsh was able to bat in his natural way.

Marsh’s knock helps Australia to claim the Test

In his stay in the middle, Marsh scored an unbeaten 63*(68) which included 7 fours and 2 sixes. In their second innings, Australia was able to declare their innings after scoring 233 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Pakistan had to chase a huge target of 450 runs. They fell in the match due to the scoreboard pressure. Australia won the match by 360 runs.

It was all too easy for the home side, as their bowlers picked wickets one after the other. Pakistan was bundled out for a paltry total of 89 runs. No batter from the visiting side tried to stay in the middle. Both the teams would now go to the second Test with a lot of hopes. Australia will start as the favourites again in the Boxing Day Test match. Pakistan seeks answers as soon as possible.
