In the dying moments of the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka, Mohammed Shami ran out Dasun Shanaka at the non-striker end. The incident happened in the last over of the game. The Sri Lanka skipper, Shanaka had taken a single on the third ball of the over. He might have trusted Kasun Rajitha well enough to take a single and get him back on strike.

Not to forget, the all-rounder was looking to get his hundred before the end of the game. Even though the team wasn’t winning the game, his hundred would have made sure that the visitors could salvage something out of a bad day. Meanwhile, it looked like Dasun’s hundred might not come as Shami flicked the bails before while running in. However, India skipper Rohit Sharma decided to withdraw the appeal.

Two balls later, the Lankan Lions skipper went on to sign off the game by scoring a hundred.
