Team India pacer Mohammed Shami has undergone foot surgery. He will certainly be out of the upcoming IPL, and he could miss the T20 World Cup too. During the ODI World Cup, Shami had pain in his foot.

Despite this pain, Shami took painkillers and played for Team India in the ODI World Cup 2023. He was the highest wicket-taker in ODI World Cup 2023, This has worsened his foot problem. So, he did not play any match after the ODI World Cup. Also, surgery was advised during the medical examination.

Shami took 24 wickets in just 7 matches in ODI World Cup 2023

Mohammed Shami has undergone surgery, and he shared his recent images from a hospital bed via his post on social media. “Just had a successful heel operation on my Achilles tendon!  Recovery is going to take some time, but looking forward to getting back on my feet” Shami said on X (formerly known as Twitter)

With this, certainly, Mohammed Shami will not play for the Gujarat Titans team in the upcoming IPL. Also, there is a high possibility that he will be unavailable for the T20 World Cup which will start from June 1. Shami was in tremendous form in ODI World Cup 2023 With the help of Shami’s lethal attack, the Indian team entered the final in the last ODI World Cup.

Last season in IPL, The 33-year-old had taken a total of 28 wickets. having given the best bowling performance for Gujarat Titans. He was the winner of the Purple Cap for this. Now the team’s main pacer is out, which will cause a huge setback for the Gujarat Titans team. Indian Premier League season 17 will start from March 22.

Gujrat Giants will face their first match against Mumbai Indians on March 24 in IPL 2024. Only 21 matches have been announced for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
