On 28 August 2022, fans witnessed a thrilling match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022. However, India managed to win the match by five wickets. Hardik Pandya was the player of the match for his all-around performance. But, for Pakistan, young pacer Naseem Shah made headlines with his impressive debut in the mega clash. Ahead of the tournament, Pakistan missed the services of both Shaheen Shah Afridi (knee injury) and Mohammad Wasim Jr. (side strain injury).

Hence, they handed a T20I debut cap to Naseem Shah ahead of this big game. Meanwhile, he did not disappoint with his performance. But, during his last over, he was struggling with cramps due to the scorching heat of Dubai. Still, he finished his last over and went back to the dugout. During that time, he was seen in tears and that video got viral.

Here is the shared video:

Shaheen Shah took two wickets for 27 runs in his full quota of four overs against India

Speaking of the viral video, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam brought back Naseem Shah in the 17th over. But, during that over, he was clearly struggling due to cramps. Even, physios came out to attend to him. Still, he bowled his heart out for his country and completed that over against India.

After completing that over, he went back to the dressing room. During that time, he became a bit emotional and he was seen crying. However, Pakistan support staff were there and they acknowledged him for his impressive T20I debut.

In his very first over, Naseem took the wicket of KL Rahul. He also dismissed Suryakumar Yadav as he ended his spell with two wickets for 27 runs. Still, his performance was not enough to prevent India from winning the match in the Asia Cup 2022. However, Babar Azam dismissed any injury worry for this young pacer.  “He (Naseem) is a very young bowler but bowled so well, and showed so much aggression. He is fine. They were just cramps,” Babar concluded.
