In a recent warm-up match between Pakistan and Australia, cricket fans were treated to a moment of amusement that had nothing to do with sixes or wickets, but rather a comical miscommunication on the field. This action on the field left the crowd bursting in laughter and at the same time, the Pakistan team were in utter disbelief.

During the 23rd over of Australia’s innings, Marnus Labuschagne played a shot that seemed destined to be caught. Haris Rauf bowled a delivery that directed Labuschagne towards square leg, and it looked like either Mohammad Wasim Jr. or Mohammad Nawaz could easily field the ball. However, in a moment of miscommunication or lapse in concentration, both fielders hesitated, looking at each other instead of making a move to stop the ball. As a result, the ball rolled past them and effortlessly reached the boundary for a four.

This scene left everyone, including their teammate Shaheen Afridi, in disbelief. Haris Rauf, the bowler, understandably expressed displeasure at witnessing such errors from his teammates.

Shikhar Dhawan trolls Pakistan’s fielding lapse

The pair received heavy trolling on social media. Even Shikhar Dhawan, who is not part of Team India’s ODI squad anymore, trolled them to the surprise of the fans. The star India opener also went onto Twitter and express his feelings about the incident.

After having won the toss, the Australian skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. The entire batting department contributed to the process. The Pakistan pacer seemed to have no answer for the onslaught from the Australian batters. In their allocated 50 overs, the Australian team registered a score of 351 runs. The wrecker in chief for the Australian team was Glenn Maxwell who played a brilliant innings of 77 runs which included 5 fours and 6 boundaries.

In their initial warm-up encounter, Pakistan faced a defeat against New Zealand as the Kiwis effortlessly chased down the target of 346 runs. Pakistan’s struggles in the bowling department persisted, and today, Australia capitalized on this weakness by posting a formidable total of 351 runs.
