WATCH: Prithvi Shaw gets called ‘Rishabh Pant’ by Paparazzi in first public appearance with rumoured girlfriend Nidhi Tapadiaa

For Delhi Capitals (DC), Prithvi Shaw had a terrible IPL 2023, scoring only 106 runs at an average of 13.25 in eight games. He only hit one fifty. Because of this, despite having a strong domestic season before the tournament, DC fans were not pleased to see him in such a state. However, a video of Shaw attending the IIFA Awards in Dubai with his supposed lover, Nidhi Tapadiaa, has now gone viral.

On May 26, 2023, the young cricketer and Nidhi made their debut in front of the public on the IIFA’s green carpet. The photographers, they both posed for pictures. Shaw was dressed in a black cap, sleeveless jacket, black shirt, and black jeans. Nidhi was clad in a black saree at the time. She is well-known for both her acting and modeling. However, one of the photographers mistakenly referred to Shaw as “Rishabh Pant” during that, driving all supporters insane.

DC even removed Shaw from their starting lineup following a shaky start to the year. Concerning that, DC’s head coach, Ricky Ponting, stated, “Prithvi… the fact that he is not playing is an indication that he did not perform as we wanted him to. No one has really grabbed the opportunity with both hands yet.”

Assistant coach Shane Watson commented on the situation, adding, “One of the most disappointing parts for DC this season was Prithvi Shaw. He’s one of the most beautiful batters to watch and take down the best bowling with the skills that he’s got. And knowing that we gave him a big stretch to find his feet. We also knew he has been a little bit inconsistent as well in the past few years. He should be dominating international cricket. But sometimes it takes people some time to navigate how they can do that consistently. He certainly had an extra bit of fire in his belly the other day.”
