Watch: Promo for India’s tour of England unveiled
India will be touring England in July. The two teams will be contesting each other in all the formats of the game. They will face each other in one Test, Three T20Is, and Three ODIs. Notably, the only Test to be played in the series will be the one that was postponed when India visited England in 2021. The match was postponed due to the COVID-19 scare.
Speaking of the upcoming series, it will be telecasted in India by the Sony network. The channel has gone ahead to release a hilarious promo for the series that has taken over the internet. The promo features Bollywood star Pankaj Tripathi and star cricketer of Indian women’s team Smriti Mandhana.
The promo shows Pankaj Tripathi sitting in a ‘Dhobi-ghat’ and instructing the cloth washers to wash the clothes properly. It is at this stage that Smriti Mandhana appears and asks the Bollywood star what he is doing. The actor replies to the question by saying that this is how India will dominate England in their home ground. Smriti adds to this by saying that India is already ahead in the Test series by a margin of 2-1 and one more win will complete the domination of India over England. To which the Mirzapur star assures her that India will dominate England even in the T20 and ODI series.

While the promo was a humorous one it was released to add to the hype of the high voltage series. Meanwhile, as it is clear from the promo, India is leading in the 5 match Test series by a margin of 2-1. The only Test will be the 5th match of the postponed series and a win for India will mean that they win the series by 3-1 and register a dominating win over the Three Lions.
Interestingly, both the team has seen a change in the leadership roles since the last time they played each other. While Virat Kohli has stepped down from the captaincy role of the Indian team, Joe Root has also done the same in the case of the England Test team. Rohit Sharma will be seen leading the Indian team, it will be Ben Stokes who will be doing the job for England.
