Cincinnati Open 2022 is going to start from 15 August to 21 August 2022. All the matches are going to be played at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. However, global Tennis stars will be in action. Rafael Nadal is not an exception also.

Rafael Nadal last played in the Wimbledon quarter-final this year on 6 July 2022

Speaking of the viral video, Rafael Nadal did some football tricks with the Tennis balls during that practice session. Speaking about his last performance, he last played in the Wimbledon quarter-final this year on 6 July 2022. However, he withdrew from that mega event as he suffered an abdominal tear against the American Taylor Fritz.

Nadal walked away from the semi-finals against Nick Kyrgios. He also withdrew from Canadian Open due to his recovery from the same injury. Meanwhile, Nadal announced his comeback in this upcoming event on his Instagram. He wrote: “Very happy to play again in Cincy. Flying there tomorrow.”

However, Nadal will be the only one from the Tennis ‘Big Three’ in the draw of the hardcourt tournament. Both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will be absent. Federer is still doing rehab due to his knee surgery. On the other hand, Novak Djokovic is still not allowed to participate in the North American tournaments. His refusal to get vaccinated against Covid-19 is the main reason behind it. Nadal will compete in this tournament for the first time since 2017. He won it once in 2013. He is currently at the third spot in the world rankings. Meanwhile, Nadal can gain the top spot by winning this tournament in Cincinnati.
