Madhya Pradesh player Rajat Patidar has made his Test debut in the ongoing second Test against England in Vishakhapatnam. He was named as the replacement of former India skipper Virat Kohli, who was rested for the first two Tests of the five-match series. The Royal Challengers Bangalore player in the IPL didn’t play in the first Test last week.

In the ongoing game, with KL Rahul being ruled out of the game, Patidar has been playing the game. Much to his delight, he was handed his Test cap from none other than 2011 World Cup winner, Zaheer Khan. On top of that, the Asian side won the toss and elected to bat first. The team had a good start but the batters, apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal haven’t been able to score big.

Meanwhile, in the game, the right-hander was having a great time with the bat as he found it easy on his first encounter with the likes of James Anderson and others. However, as the former was going well, he got out despite defending the ball from the handle of the ball. Had the ball not bounced more, the Madhya Pradesh player would have middled the ball.

Meanwhile, talking about the game, the home team has amassed 336/6 in 93 overs with Jaiswal batting on 179 including 17 fours and five sixes. Ravichandran Ashwin is on the other end and both batters will come out to bat on Day 2 on the weekend. They will look to get the most runs and bat out more time to keep England out of the game.
