WATCH: Ravi Shastri settles debate over viral photo of stump getting knocked back without dislodging bails

A photo of such a strange incident of cricket is being shared on the internet, which after seeing once it is difficult to believe your eyes. Just imagine, a bowler bowled the ball and one of the stumps was uprooted from its place, but the bails remained intact. This is what happened in a local tournament.

The perplexing incident occurred in a local ACT Premier Cricket Third Grade match in Australia, where the bowler dislodged the middle stump, but the bails remained intact. This unusual event took place during a game between Ginninderra Cricket Club and West District Cricket Club. Speaking of the incident, on the Big Bash League commentary panel, the former India cricketer Ravi Shastri came up with a verdict of his own.

This viral photo was discussed during the BBL match. On this, Ravi Shastri said that he had never seen such a thing before, but according to the rules of cricket, in such a situation the batter should be given not out. It is because as per the rule, a batter cannot be given out until unless the bails have come off the stumps.
