WATCH: Ravindra Jadeja fails trying to get hold of dog during 3rd ODI against Australia
In the third ODI between India and Australia in Chennai, a stray dog prompted a brief halt to play. Ashton Agar and Sean Abbott were batting during Australia’s innings at the time of the event, and India’s Kuldeep Yadav was bowling the 43rd over. The dog broke over the fence and invaded the field, temporarily causing the umpires to halt play. Even with security pursuing him, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen attempting to grab the dog.
Since his return to international cricket last month, Jadeja has been in outstanding form. Jadeja was honoured as the game’s player of the match in the opening ODI of the current three-game series against Australia for his all-around effort. In the first and second Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia in February, he received player of the match accolades. With Ravichandran Ashwin, Jadeja was honoured to be named player of the series.

Australia won the game by 21 runs and the series 2-1
In the Chepauk Stadium, Australian captain Steve Smith chose to bat first after winning the toss for the game. In the game’s opening innings, Australia was dismissed for 269 runs after being bowled out. Mitchell Marsh led his team in scoring with 47 from the same number of deliveries. The team’s total also included contributions from David Warner, Sean Abbott, Marcus Stoinis, Travis Head, and Alex Carey. Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel each claimed two victims, while Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya claimed a three-wicket haul.
India fell 21 runs shy of the 270 runs they were aiming for. The Indian innings got off to a great start thanks to the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, who struck 65 runs in 55 balls together. The skipper was eventually dismissed after collecting 30 runs in only 17 balls with two fours and two sixes each. Former skipper and star batter Virat Kohli scored the most runs for the Men in Blue, with 54 off 74 balls with just two fours and sixes. Although KL Rahul, Gill, and Pandya also got runs, it wasn’t enough.
