WATCH – South Australian cricketer Henry Hunt fractured his nose during Marsh cup match between Victoria and South Australia
The Junction Oval Witnessed a horrific incident on Thursday. South Australia opener Henry Hunt left with a bloody nose during the Marsh Cup match against Victoria. The 27-year-old batter was in pain and left the field immediately.
After winning the toss South Australia scored 231 runs on the board. Fergus O’Neill took 3 wickets for 38 runs. That particular incident occurs during the 25th over. Victoria opener Thomas Rogers slammed a delivery from Lloyd Pope.
Henry Hunt was fielding at mid-on. He got into the position to take the catch but the ball crashed on his nose from his hand. Victoria opener Rogers had hit the ball very hard As soon as it hit, blood came out of his nose. After some time the cricketer walked off the field. The South Australia Opener was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Thomas Rogers, who hit the shot speaks after the match and he hopes for Hunt to be alright. He said it was a ‘scary’ incident.
“I hit it pretty hard and I don’t know whether he touched it or not. Hopefully, he’s ok. Hopefully, the scans come back clear for him because he’s got a bright future. He’s usually an absolute gun in the field. Maybe he tripped or something like that. But pretty scary, you never want to see something like that.” (Source- Perth Now)
Former Australian pacer and South Australia coach Jason Gillespie expressed his concern for batter Henry Hunt and said
“As I saw it I started to run downstairs because it looked sickening. You could see the concern on the lads’ faces. That’s a worry. First and foremost his health is the absolute priority. At the end of the day, it’s a game of cricket. Hopefully he’ll be ok.”
Thomas Rogers and Nic Maddinson scored brilliant half-centuries and chased down the target in just 44.1 overs.
