South African players are known to be great fielders over the years. Fans might be aware of the fielding heroics of the likes of Jonty Rhodes and AB de Villiers. This time around, a young prodigy Tristan Stubbs carried on with the legacy in the third T20I against India. During India’s innings, Suryakumar Yadav played a lofted shot towards deep point against Dwaine Pretorius.

Most of the time, a fielder would have either gone for saving the boundary or wouldn’t have reached the ball. However, it wasn’t the case with Stubbs. The youngster dove forward and took a fantastic catch to end Yadav’s innings. The incident happened on the last ball of the eighth over. After this, the video of the incident has been doing rounds on social media. This wicket pretty much sealed the game in favor of the Proteas.

Talking about the game, the Temba Bavuma-led side dominated the game for most parts. They amassed 227/3 runs at the end of the innings after being 30/1 in the first four overs. Rilee Rossouw scored an unbeaten century while Quinton de Kock scored a fifty. David Miller scored 19 not out off just five balls. In reply, India lost the game by 49 runs. Batters such as Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik got starts but failed to do big.

With this win, the Green Brigade managed to avoid the clean sweep. Now, the same set of players will play the three-match ODI series against India. On the other hand, the Men In Blue have rested their 20-20 World Cup 2022-bound players. They have given chance to players who have missed out on the World Cup squad. The series will be part of the ongoing ODI World Cup Super League. South Africa will be looking to gather some points to strengthen their qualification for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

On the other hand, India has automatically qualified for the event as they are the hosts.
