Even though the catch might not have won the match, the athleticism shown on the ground while taking a catch was commendable. Troy Johnson and Nick Kelly, together made an extremely beautiful effort to catch the ball at the boundary line. While playing for the Wellington Firebirds, both the fielders took the catch of Will Young. As Young played a good lofted straight drive, Johnson ran backwards from mid-on toward the boundary to catch the ball. However, he failed to get hold of the ball and before falling on the boundary line, he threw the ball towards Kelly.

Kelly who was in motion, used his presence of mind and got hold of the ball. The catch might not sound exciting while reading, but in real life, it was no less than a miracle. Both the fielders made sure that they gave quality efforts to catch the ball. Their awareness of the game helped them take a blinder.

Having won the toss, the Firebirds decided to bat first. The team scored 148 runs at the loss of eight wickets. However, Central Districts chased down the score under 17 overs. Jack Boyle (57) and Dough Bracewell (30) helped the team win the match. Not only the batters, the bowlers failed to perform for the Firebirds. As a result, they lost the match.

Will Young gets a call for the Black Caps squad

Will Young might be experiencing a rapid change in his emotions today. Just before he got out, the New Zealand team declared their squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. Fortunately, Young was added to the team as a replacement for Josh Clarkson. The match is about to start on January 17 at the University Oval in Dunedin.

Clarkson injured his shoulder while playing for the Central Stags. Previously, Johnson had played for the Black Caps in the ODI series and had scored 105, 89 and 26. Young can impress the Kiwi selectors if he gets to play in the T20I series and score well.
