Virat Kohli had always stood up for his teammates
Speaking about the incident, after hearing abusive words for the young bowler, Virat was not pleased with the crowd. Thus, he came out and shut them down. This is not the first time when Virat stood for a player or his teammates. It was in 2021, during the T20 World Cup, that Virat stood up for Mohammad Shami.
The Indian pacer was getting abused by fans for his bad performances in the tournament. People were seen dragging his religion and hit hard on Shami on social media platforms. Kohli stood up at that time and gave a fitting reply. This time also, he stood up for the young pacer and gave a fitting reply to the crowd in Leicestershire.
Speaking about the match, after scoring 246 runs in the first innings, they bundled out the host side in 244 runs. As of now, India managed to score 203 runs for six wickets. Virat scored 33 runs in the first innings before getting trapped in an LBW decision. In this innings, he is batting at a score of 27* runs off 28 balls.
Team India will be in action against England in that one-off Test match. After that, India is also scheduled for an ODI and T20I series in July.
