‘We are expected to win while playing in India….’ – Batting coach Vikram Rathour speaks about pressure crowd creates while playing in India

Vikram Rathour speaks about the pressure created by the crowd.

India’s head batting coach Vikram Rathour speaks about the pressure the crowd creates while playing in India. Although the team is accustomed to the crowd’s added pressure, the fans go beyond and troll the team if they lose a single match in India. He also mentioned that the team gets utmost support from the staff and they push the players to give their best.

Rathour said, “I don’t think (there’s any pressure). We are expected to win while playing in India, and the boys are used to that by now. The message to them from the support staff is to play good cricket and not bother about results too much. The other teams also come well-prepared. Since we have won Test matches in Australia, England and South Africa, we also expect them to win a Test in India.”

India lost their first match against England in Hyderabad due to which the visitors led the five-match Test series, 1-0. Rathour praised the England batters for keeping calm and playing all sorts of innovative shots including the sweep shot. Moreover, Indian batters played traditional cricket and will be hoping to add more shots to their game to increase their chance of winning the upcoming matches.

‘It will be a tough choice’ – Vikram Rathour clears out challenge India will face while team selection

As the debate over the selection of Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan is increasing, Vikram Rathour, India’s head batting coach, clarifies the selection process. He didn’t give a hint as to who will be picked for the 2nd Test match but said that all the players are good and the management will decide on the inclusion of the players.

“It will be a tough choice. What value they bring to the team, of course, is that they are superb players. We have seen how well they have done in domestic cricket in the last few years. So on these kinds of wickets, I think they can really add a lot of value to the team,” says the batting coach.
