‘We don’t miss Sarfaraz Ahmed’ – Fans react as Temba Bavuma falls asleep on Captain’s Day
South Africa’s cricket team captain Temba Bavuma recently became a laughing spot for the fans as he was spotted taking a relaxing nap in between the media interactions of all the captains of the teams participating in the ODI World Cup on 23, which will be held in India from 5 October to 19 November.
The captains of all the participating nations followed the tradition of gathering together for the Captain’s Day ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Captain’s Day event was held in Ahmedabad on 14 October, just a day before the tournament commenced between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium (popularly known as Motera Stadium) in Ahmedabad.
Notably, as all the other captains were interacting with the media, the South African, Captain Temba Bavuma fell asleep as he made the most of the only chair He was sitting on while others shared a couch.
Temba Bavuma on playing the ODI World Cup 2023 in India
Temba Bavuma discussed the cons of playing the tournament in India since most of the players in the world have experience playing the famous cricket league, the IPL in India, however, most of the players in the current South African squad have not participated in the tournament which can be a disadvantage for the team.
“It is something relevant to all the teams lot of the teams have guys who play in India and have done well in India I wouldn’t say it is an advantage for us all we can do is guys who have that experience and knowledge they can share it amongst teams or use it in terms of strength and plans I wouldn’t say it is an advantage unique to us as a team.”
