India lost their first-ever 20-20 World Cup match against their arch-rivals Pakistan last year. In total six meetings, this is the first time India failed to cross the line against them. However, again later this year, these two teams will lock horns in the 20-20 World Cup at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia on 23 October 2022.

Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh opted not to pick any winner ahead of this year’s clash after having a backlash from Pakistan players and fans last year. After last year’s devastating defeat, Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar advised him not to make any predictions, and looks like, he has agreed with that.

“I won’t be giving any statement” – Harbhajan Singh

Before last year, Pakistan had never managed to defeat India in a World Cup match in both the 50-over and 20-over format. Hence, Harbhajan asked the Pakistan cricket team to give a walkover to India. Speaking on Star Sports, he said: “I told Shoaib Akhtar that there’s no sense in Pakistan participating; you should give us a walkover. You’ll play, you’ll lose again, and you’ll be upset. Our squad is extremely solid, very powerful, and they will easily beat you guys.”

Then, after that magnificent win by Pakistan, their fans and former players trolled him badly. Now, after that incident, Harbhajan decided not to choose any winner in the coming matches. Speaking on an Indian sports website with Shoaib Akhtar, he said: “We have another T20 World Cup and this year, I won’t be giving any statement and won’t talk over who will win [between Pakistan and India],”

“Mauka Mauka or whatever, we will see what is going to happen as last time around things went bad due to this,” he concluded.

Speaking about both these teams, India is the number one ranked team with 268 rating points while Pakistan is sitting at the third spot with 261 rating points in this shortest format of the game.
