Indian team management has gone with five out-and-out pacers in the upcoming Asia Cup. Despite unfavourable conditions, India has picked up one extra pacer. Explaining this, India skipper Rohit Sharma has said that it is important as there will be a longer need for pacers in the upcoming months. This indicates that India might rest some pacers in the Asia Cup to keep them fresh and fit for the World Cup.
One more thing that might go against Prasidh is India’s team combinations. For the upcoming ODI World Cup, India might go with one more spinner, considering pitch conditions. This might lead Prasidh to make way for Yuzvendra Chahal or Ravichandran Ashwin. It will be interesting to see if India continues to go with an extra pacer in Indian conditions.
