‘World Cup ke bahane Kotha banega’ – Fans react to Oyo introducing 500 hotels in next three months for upcoming ODI World Cup 2023
The much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off in the month of October at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, where the two finals from last year, England and New Zealand lock horns against each other. The venues for the knockout games, semi-final and final are yet to be announced. The final is set to be hosted by Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
Ahead of the mega event, the largest hotel chain in India, OYO, stated that 500 additional hotels will be created in host cities for the World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to begin on October 5. Notably, there was a lot of commotion outside Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad due to complaints from many fans that the costs were too expensive for the much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan on October 15.
We have observed a significant surge in search for homestay properties for October and November: Parikshit Choudhury
“OYO will add 500 hotels in host cities in the next three months to meet the demand for the cricket World Cup. We want to ensure that everyone who is traveling from far away to watch their favorite teams has access to comfortable and affordable accommodation,” the spokesperson was quoted as saying in Economic Times.
After OYO, MakeMyTrip is the second travel agency to ask for a comfortable place for the spectators to stay during the competition.
“We have observed a significant surge in search of homestay properties for October and November in select cities across the country. This is a good sign and indicates that cricket fans are more willing than ever to explore homestays as an accommodation option. A large proportion of homestay properties in cricket centres across October and November is still available for cricket lovers at an economical price,” MakeMyTrip Chief Business Officer Parikshit Choudhury was quoted as saying.
