WPL 2024 Full Squads Post-Auction: All Players List
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) held its second edition auction on December 9, 2023, in Mumbai. It featured 165 players, including 104 Indians and 61 overseas players, with 15 from associate nations. Each team’s purse received an additional 1.5 crores. The defending champions Mumbai Indians Women (MIW), along with Delhi Capitals Women, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz, engaged in a tense bidding war to strengthen their squads.
The WPL 2024’s second season is scheduled from February 22 to March 17. The Women’s Premier League 2024 auction witnessed fierce bidding battles as franchises sought key players. Australia’s Annabel Sutherland was bagged by Delhi Capitals for INR 2 crores. Additionally, Gujarat Giants acquired Phoebe Litchfield and Meghna Singh. Mumbai Indians signed South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail for INR 1.20 crores.
Vrinda Dinesh, the Karnataka opener, engaged in a three-way bidding war, ultimately going to UP Warriorz for INR 1.30 crores. Gujarat secured Punjab all-rounder Kashvee Gautam for INR 2 crores. Unsold players included Chamari Athapaththu, and Deandra Dottin who were a surprise on the list. Furthermore, players like Kim Garth, Lea Tahuhu, Shivali Shinde, and Punam Raut were also in unfortunate need.
