Mohammad Kaif, the former Indian batsman, has become the target of Indian fans on the social media platform Twitter. Fans started slamming the former cricketer on Twitter after Kaif took to the social media platform to make a controversial remark on team India.

India recently beat Sri Lanka convincingly in a two-match Test series. Following India’s victory Kaif shared a tweet congratulating team India. The victory over Sri Lanka meant that India maintained their unbeaten run across formats under Rohit’s leadership. India has defeated New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka at home under Rohit.

Kaif, in his tweet, congratulated India on the way they are dominating other nations in the game at present. He made it a point to mention that India has turned into a ‘world-beating Test unit’ under the new leadership team of coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma.

The comment on Kaif’s part enraged the fans as they are of the opinion that not only Rohit and Dravid but also the previous pair of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri also deserve some credit for India’s current performance. The fans expressed their discontent on Twitter immediately. Her is how they responded to Kaif’s Tweet. They felt this was an insult to the efforts of Virat and Shastri.

Rohit Sharma as India’s all-time captain

India went for the option to appoint Rohit Sharma as the limited overs captain sometime back. But Kohli was asked to continue his tenure as captain in the longest format. However after India’s defeat against South Africa in the away test series by a margin of 2-1Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain. Since then, Rohit has taken up the captaincy responsibility and has done brilliantly well.
