‘Yaha to naam padh padh ke dar lag raha hai’ – Fans react after Australia name squad for World Test Championship final against India
Australian Cricket Board have announced their 17-men squad for the upcoming World Test Championship final against India and the first two Test matches of the Ashes series against England. Pat Cummins will return as the skipper of the Test side, while Steve Smith will be the vice-captain. The WTC final will begin on June at the Oval, while the Ashes will start on June 16th.
Opening batter David Warner had made it into the Australian Test squad despite his recent poor form in red-ball cricket. Usman Khawaja is likely to open the innings with Warner in the final, while all-rounder Mitchell Marsh returned to the Test squad after four years. Additionally, Marcus Harris has also been recalled to the squad along with the wicketkeeper Josh Inglis.
‘The UK is a very different assignment’ – George Bailey
Australia will be looking to settle things with India after losing the recent Test series against them by 1-2. Former skipper and the current chief selector of Australia, George Bailey stated that the England tour will be a vastly different challenge from the Indian tour.
“The World Test Championship is the culmination of more than two years of consistent performance at Test level by the team and the individuals involved, leading into an Ashes series which is always highly anticipated. The UK is a very different assignment from our most recent tour of India and some of the changes are based upon the conditions we are anticipating,” said Bailey as quoted by Sportskeeda.
“Marcus Josh, and Mitch return to the squad and will provide valuable depth and flexibility within their respective skillsets. We see value in revisiting the squad following the second Ashes Test given the short turnaround between the WTC Final and the first Ashes Test, along with the length of the tour,” he further added.
Australia squad:
Pat Cummins (captain), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Todd Murphy, Matthew Renshaw, Steve Smith (vice-captain), Mitchell Starc, David Warner.

No hopes for India already.
But I still support and hope that India wins.

Australia has announced its team for WTCFinal. For RohitSharma, if the selectors are wise enough, it must be the last test. He has put on weight and has played enough.
After WTC, BCCI must invest in youth in tests. We have many talented guys waiting for too long.

Winning is just a dream can only be possible if Pujara plays out of his skinRest all will come after IPL Hangover and we will see how badly they will surrender in a seaming wicket and English conditions
We plan to fail spectacularly
