After winning the last fixture against Delhi Capitals (DC) by 27 runs, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram, in Chennai on Sunday, May 14. Knight Riders won the match by six wickets and Rinku Singh was awarded the Player of the Match for his brilliant performance.

When former champions CSK faced strong rivals Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in the IPL 2023, former India captain MS Dhoni had an emotional outing. Dhoni and his teammates performed a victory lap at the Chepauk after the game as a way of showing appreciation to the fans for turning out in large numbers to see CSK’s final home game of the year.

During the lap, he gave an autograph to for India opener, Sunil Gavaskar on his shirt.

“Players like him come once in a century, not even once in a generation,” Gavaskar expressed what millions of fans felt as MS Dhoni led his team maybe for the final time at the Chepauk during the 16th Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

In response to the batting legend’s request, Dhoni made an amazing gesture as the lavish cricketer of the Yellow Brigade autographed Gavaskar’s jersey following the game. For his outstanding batting performance, middle-order batter Rinku was awarded the Player of the Match. The two-time champions KKR have moved up to sixth place in the IPL 2023 points table with their six-wicket victory against CSK.
