 ‘Ye deewar girti kyu nhi’ : Twitter erupts as Rahul Dravid turns 49

Veteran Indian cricket and current head coach of the National team Virat Kohli is celebrating his 49th birthday today. On the special occasion, the cricket fraternity extended their greetings for to the legendary cricketer. Dravid has been a great servant of Indian cricket. He represented India for nearly two decades and shattered multiple records.

Dravid played 164 Tests, 344 ODIs and one T20I for India, scoring over 24,000 international runs. He also led India to an elite win in a test series in England in 2007. Post retirement Dravid served as a coach for India A and Under 19 team and did a remarkable job of preparing an army of cricketers who are now ruling world cricket. Dravid is credited for creating a strong bench strength for India. Here’s how the cricket fraternity reacted.

Meanwhile, ahead of the third Test, Dravid jokingly trolled himself saying that he is not quite sure if he has to be happy or sad on his birthday as he is nearing is half century. “When you get older, you’re not sure what to feel when you get wished on your birthday. But it feels nice. Did get a lot of wishes from friends and family,” Dravid told former Zimbabwe cricketer and currently a broadcaster Pommie Mbangwa before the start of third India vs South Africa Test match in Cape Town.
