‘Ye kya ho gaya bhai jaan’ – Fans react as RCB thrash SRH by 8 wickets in Hyderabad in IPL 2023

In the 65th match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Riding on amazing batting performances from Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, RCB strengthened their chances for the playoffs.

Earlier, after winning the toss, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis opted to bowl first. His decision did go well with the team as both SRH opener Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi were dismissed by spinner Mitchell Bracewell in the same over. After their departure, Aiden Markram, along with Heinrich Klaasen, added 76 runs for the third wicket. Markram scored 18 runs off 20 balls.

After that, Klaasen along with Harry Brook added 74 runs off 36 balls for the fourth wicket. Klaasen in his innings scored his maiden IPL ton. He scored 104 runs off 51 balls with the help of eight boundaries and six maximums. On the other hand, Brook in his innings scored unbeaten 27 runs off 19 balls with the help of two boundaries and a six. For RCB Bracewell clinched two wickets while Mohammed Siraj, Shahbaz Ahmed and Harshal Patel clinched a wicket each.

Virat Kohli smashed a brilliant century after four years

Chasing 187, RCB got a dream start as opener Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis added 172 runs for the first wicket. In his magnificent innings, Kohli scored 100 runs off 63 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and four sixes. This is Kohli’s sixth century in the Indian Premier League and one after four years. Meanwhile, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis also hammered a brilliant half-century.

Du Plessis scored 71 runs off 47 balls with the help of seven boundaries and two sixes. In the end, Maxwell and Bracewell finished the work and won the game for RCB. With RCB’s victory, LSG and CSK now have to wait for some time to qualify for the playoffs.
