‘Ye sab se zyada wickets ka record todega’ – Fans react as James Anderson makes his comeback for England team for 2nd Test against India
English pacer, James Anderson returns to the England team for the 2nd Test match against India. The match is set to start on February 2, in Visakhapatnam. England has released their playing 11 and Anderson is ready to play in India after three years. Along with the 41-year-old, the 21-year-old Shoaib Bashir will play his debut match for England.
Anderson will replace Mark Wood and Bashir will replace the injured Jack Leach in the playing 11 for the upcoming match. The 2nd Test will be Anderson’s first match of 2024 and his 184th Test match, overall. He has 690 wickets in 183 Test matches. With the return of the pacer to the side, the England team looks even more dangerous than before.
Rehman Ahmed remains in the team for the 2nd match, along with Bashir and Tom Hartley. Ahmed debuted for England in 2022 in Karachi. Bashir will be joining the last match’s debutant, Tom Hartley, who took seven wickets in his first match. With a mixture of young and experienced players, England’s team looks quite perfect on paper. However, their on-day performances will about how perfect the team is.
I feel for him – Rohit Sharma reacted on Shoaib Bashir’s visa issue
The English debutant Shoaib Bashir joined the team late as he had issues regarding his visa application. He had to return to England after the training camp in Abu Dhabi because of the visa issue. Although it was solved, Captain Ben Stokes was furious about the incident and mentioned that he didn’t want Bashir’s first experience to be this. Moreover, Rohit Sharma was more empathetic toward the situation and said he would like to see the youngster make his debut.
Rohit during a pre-match press conference said, “I feel for Shoaib Bashir – Unfortunately, I don’t sit in the Visa office to give you more details, but I hope he gets it quickly & enjoys our country.”
