‘Ye sab toh theek hai par WC ka kya hoga’ – Fans react as Suryakumar Yadav registers his 4th T20I ton against South Africa
Suryakumar Yadav registered a fabulous hundred against South Africa in the 3rd T20I of the series. The unorthodox batter scored his 4th T20I ton in his favourite format. In the process, the Indian captain broke some records. As usual, his batting was so fun to watch, as he hit some entertaining shots. The number of ways in which he can score runs still amazes many.
In the match against SA, Surya was fluent. After being asked to bat first by Aiden Markram, India found themselves at 29/2. From there, Yadav joined Yashasvi Jaiswal to anchor the Indian innings. The speciality about Yadav is his ability to anchor the innings at a very high strike rate. He did not have to change his way of play just because of the fall of the wicket at the other end.
Suryakumar took on the spinners and pacers of SA very well and hit some wonderful sixes. In his stay in the middle, the Indian captain scored 100 runs in 56 balls. The knock of Yadav included 7 fours and 8 sixes. 76 runs from Suryakumar’s blade came just from the boundaries, which showed his way of scoring. At no point did he look tired or struggling in the middle.
Suryakumar Yadav breaks records
With his terrific knock against SA, the star batter broke many records. The Indian captain became only the third batter to score 4 hundreds in T20Is. The star batter now has the joint most hundreds in the format along with Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell. Suryakumar has taken the least number of innings (57) to reach the milestone of 4 hundreds in the shortest format of the game.
Suryakumar also became the first batter to hit 4 T20I hundreds against four different opponents. So far, he has scored 100s against teams like New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and England. Suryakumar is the only batter to have 4 hundreds in 4 different countries and 4 different continents in T20Is. He has a 100 in India, New Zealand, South Africa, and England. These countries belong to Asia, Australia, Africa, and the European continents.

These days everytime I see SKY playing such innings and these shots at will, my heart goes back to Nov 19, what if he played that evening even half of what he is doing today..

Don’t let Sky’s 100 distract you from the fact that he is the reason why we lost the World Cup final and his performances in low pressure situations aren’t fooling anyone.

Yeh sab to theek hai, worldcup ka kya hoga?
We still can’t recover from that, or at least can’t forget.
