Australia has beaten South Africa by a margin of 3-0 in their own backyard to clinch the series. Opting to bat first in Durban, South African batters could not score as well as they would have expected. Temba Bavuma was dismissed for a golden duck in the very first over by Marcus Stoinis. The Australian all-rounder dismissed Matthew Breetzke on his debut for just 5 runs.

Reeza Hendricks was joined by Aiden Markram for the third wicket. The duo revived the innings of South Africa a bit. The partnership between the two yielded 58 runs for the home side. Hendricks scored 42 runs in 30 balls and anchored the innings. South African captain Markram scored a brisk 41(23) which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Sean Abbott dismissed the dangerous looking Markram.

Tristan Stubbs scored 25 runs in 16 balls and was undone by Abbott. Donovan Ferreira provided the finishing touches for the home side with his 48(21), which included a boundary and 5 huge sixes. As a result, the proteas managed to score 190 runs in their 20 overs. Abbott and Stoinis were the pick of the bowlers for Australia, who claimed 4 and 2 wickets respectively.

Travis Head, Josh Inglis, and Marcus Stoinis power Australia to win

Chasing the target of 191, Australia lost the wicket of Mathhew Short in the very first ball. What followed was a carnage from Travis Head. Though the in-form Mitchell Marsh could not score well for Australia, Head led the charge and played a significant role in Australia’s win. The Southpaw was helped by Josh Inglis and Stoinis, who played fine cameos and helped Australia in the run chase.

Head scored 91 runs in 48 balls which included 8 fours and 6 sixes. Inglis scored 42(22) which included 1 four and 4 sixes. Stoinis saw Australia home with an unbeaten 37*(21). In the end, Australia won the match by 5 wickets with 13 balls to spare. For South Africa, Bjorn Fortuin and Gerald Coetzee claimed 2 wickets each. Australia whitewashed South Africa in their own conditions.
