Yusuf Pathan backs India to bounce back from loss against Pakistan
Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has backed team India to bounce back in the tournament. India suffered a big loss against Pakistan in their opening game. With Pakistan almost sealing their berth in the semifinals, India’s next game against New Zealand becomes a crucial encounter. Given that both India and New Zealand are favourites against the remaining three teams of the tournament, the India-New Zealand match is being seen as a knockout game. The team that wins the match will most likely qualify along with Pakistan.
Pathan backed the Men in Blue to do well against New Zealand saying India have players who thrive in pressure situations. “I don’t think it will be difficult for India to bounce back as our players have been playing good cricket. All the India players are hardworking and they know how to handle pressure. We all should keep supporting the team and the players will definitely do well,” said Pathan during a virtual media conference.
Pathan said that one loss does not end India’s campaign and backed the team to claim their second 20-20 World Cup title. “We are not out of the tournament after one loss. India still have a chance to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and I hope that we can win the T20 World Cup,” he added.
Meanwhile, Yusuf Pathan will next be seen in the T10 league, set to get underway on November 19, 2021, in Abu Dhabi.
