The left knee surgery on Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni went well. The CSK management stated that the procedure was handled beautifully and went nicely in a report by Cricbuzz. Dhoni is doing well as well. According to Cricbuzz, MS Dhoni was supposed to stay in the hospital for an additional two days. However, it was revealed late on Thursday night that MS Dhoni had been released.
“I spoke to him after the operation. I cannot explain what the surgery is about but we have been told it is a keyhole surgery. He sounded fine in our conversation,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said to Cricbuzz. He claimed to have spoken with Dhoni immediately following the procedure on Thursday morning. The procedure was carried out by sports medicine expert Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. He had already handled Rishabh Pant with a similar problem.

It is unknown when MS Dhoni will fully recuperate. However, based on a projection, MS Dhoni will return to full fitness in two months. The CSK captain stated that he would like to return and participate in another IPL season just for the benefit of the fans following the IPL 2023 final. After IPL 2024, the following mega auction will most likely take place. Therefore, it appears that MS Dhoni will play another season for CSK to prepare things and possibly finally retire after the IPL 2024.
The CSK management is aware of the need to develop strategies for life after MS Dhoni. In CSK, MS Dhoni has already made history. Five titles have been won by the Yellow Army. In terms of IPL championships, CSK and Mumbai Indians are now equal. The most of any franchise, the Yelllove Army, has advanced to the IPL playoffs 12 times. Since 2008, MS Dhoni has been a part of CSK. He only left the team once, when it was given a two-year suspension for alleged match-fixing.
