‘3 months pahle kr liya hota toh ab tak fit ho jata’ – Jaspirt Bumrah undergoes successful back surgery, could make his return after six months.

It’s been a quite long time since India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s exclusion from the professional. He complained about back problems last year, which made him miss the Asia Cup. He made his comeback in September and was not a part of the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup in Australia. He was ruled out due to a back injury and went on to miss the tournament.

Bumrah was selected in the Indian squad for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia and was expected to play the upcoming Indian T20 League for the Mumbai franchise, but he hasn’t recovered yet which ruled him out of the Test series and the T20 League.

The Indian pacer underwent back surgery in New Zealand, which was successful, and the 29-year-old is expected to be back in cricketing action after six months. The surgery was performed by the renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Rowan Schouten, who previously has also treated the players like James Pattinson and Jofra Archer.

The hospital refused to make any statement on Bumrah

As reported by Cricbuzz, the surgery will keep the Indian fast-bowler away from cricketing action for 24 weeks. Bumrah will miss the Indian T20 League, the Test Champion final if India qualifies, and also the 2023 Asia Cup. However, Bumrah is expected to be fully fit at the time of the 50 overs World Cup that will take place in India later this year. He is one of the pivotal fast bowlers in the country and will play a crucial role for the Indian Team in a big tournament.

However, the hospital has declined to give any statement about the Indian pacer. The Indian Cricket Board is also yet to make any statement about his condition. It is expected that Bumrah will start practising in the nets in August and will be fully prepared before the World Cup.
