After this performance, he became the number one bowler in that format. Barinder Sran came out as an option when he made his ODI debut on 12 January 2016. He played his first ODI match against Australia in Perth.
However, he only managed to play six ODIs and two T20Is in his career. Sran picked up seven wickets in ODIs at an economy of 5.34 while he grabbed six wickets in two T20Is at an economy of 5.12. Despite such impressive performances, he lost his place on the Team and never made a comeback afterward. In the recently concluded Indian T20 League, he was the net bowler for the Gujarat franchise.
