5 Players Who Faded Away After Making Their Debut With Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is known as one of the top-class bowlers of modern cricket for his excellent pace bowling abilities. In the current pace bowling unit of India, he is the leader of the pack across all three formats of the game. Recently, for the one-off Test match against England, he was also named the captain of the side as Rohit Sharma was not available. 

Even, though he registered his career-best ODI figure against England by picking up six wickets for 19 runs only in the first ODI on 12 July 2022. After this performance, he became the number one bowler in that format. But, there are many players who lost their place in the Indian Team despite making a debut in 2016, the same year Bumrah made his ODI debut.

This player was known as a good option to fill up the need for a left-arm pacer for India. After Zaheer Khan’s departure, India failed to get a good left-arm pacer for their services. Barinder Sran came out as an option when he made his ODI debut on 12 January 2016. He played his first ODI match against Australia in Perth.

However, he only managed to play six ODIs and two T20Is in his career. Sran picked up seven wickets in ODIs at an economy of 5.34 while he grabbed six wickets in two T20Is at an economy of 5.12. Despite such impressive performances, he lost his place on the Team and never made a comeback afterward. In the recently concluded Indian T20 League, he was the net bowler for the Gujarat franchise.
