This famous incident happened when India and England were involved in the fifth rescheduled Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India managed to score 416 runs in the first innings while batting first. But, in reply England was struggling a bit as they were on 93 runs by losing five wickets.
It was the 32nd over of England’s innings when this incident took place. Kohli continued to sledge Bairstow at the start of day three’s play and asked him to stay silent and concentrate on his batting. The sledging worked for a while but ultimately, Bairstow scored a hundred. He also gave back a deadly stare to Kohli during his celebration. However, England still got bundled out for only 284 runs.
