India has been ranked the world’s number one T20I side for a long time in the last 4 years. Despite the shift in rankings, where teams like England, Pakistan, Australia and other teams ascended the rankings, India has been able to constantly improve as a side to remain at the top, which is a good feat as well. India has been competitive on the world stage and deserves to be the number one ranked side in the world at the moment.
India has not lost a series at home against a team other than Australia in the last 8 years, which is an incredible feat. Along with it, India has beaten many teams in their backyard. It includes all the teams in the world like England, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and so on. The legacy of the team is amazing.
