5. ODI batter rankings
Shubman Gill has been the number one ranked batter in ODIs currently. In the last 18 months in ODI cricket, Gill has been arguably the best batter in the format. The youngster has made the spot his own and shined as a batter in many tournaments. In many bilateral series, Gill was the best-performing batter. Against some of the top teams like Australia and New Zealand, Gill has shown his calibre as a batter. He has scored runs for fun at an aggressive rate.
In the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023, Gill was the leading run-scorer in the tournament. In the ODI World Cup 2023, Gill played some good knocks against teams like Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Netherlands, and so on. Despite suffering from dengue fever, he attained the number one spot in ODIs, dethroning Babar Azam from the rankings. The impressive thing about Gill is that he is aggressive and consistent at the same time, which is a rarity.
