Revealed! Venues, schedule of the Indian T20 League 2022 playoff matches announced

The dates for the playoff matches of the Indian T20 League 2022 have been announced. In their latest release, India’s Cricket Governing Body has announced the dates and venues for the playoffs matches of the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league. Interestingly, the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the last four matches of the 2022 edition.

As per the schedule, the Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator match are slated to be held on 24^th and 25^th May 2022 at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. Add to that, the Qualifier 2 and the final match will be held on 27th and 29^th May 2022 respectively.

Talking about the format of the knockouts, the top two ranked teams at the end of the league stage will lock horns with each other on 24^th May in Qualifier 1 at Eden Gardens. The teams placed in third and fourth positions will take on each other in the Eliminator match on 25^th May at Eden Gardens on Wednesday.

The winner of the Eliminator match will then take on the losing team of Qualifier 1 in the Qualifier 2 game on 27^th May 2022 at Narendra Modi Stadium. The final match of the Indian T20 League 2022 will be played between the winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 on 29^th May 2022 at Narendra Modi Stadium. All the matches will begin on 7:30 PM IST.

Furthermore, India’s Cricketing Board have also released the schedule of the Women’s T20 Challenge. As per the release, the tournament will be conducted from 23^rd May to 28^th May 2022.

The first match will be held on 23^rd May 2022, while the second game is scheduled to be played on 24^th May 2022. The third match is slated to be played on 26^th May 2022. The final of the Women’s T20 Challenge tournament is scheduled to be played on 28^th May 2022. All the games will be played in Pune.
